Dr. Robin Nunkoo, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and the Head of the International Center for Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Mauritius; a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; and an Adjunct Research Fellow at Griffith Institute for Tourism, Griffith University. He obtained his PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He has research interests in quantitative methods, political economy, public trust in government institutions, and community support for tourism. He has published articles in such journals as Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research. He is also the Associate Editor for Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management and for Annals of Tourism Research.
Mr Püttmann is the Head of Public Policy in TUI Group and part of Group Corporate & External Affairs. He also heads the Group’s Berlin Corporate Office. Dr Upasana Singh is a lecturer in the Discipline of Information Systems and Technology at the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. She lectures on a wide-range of IT-related subjects and she has a keen interest in Educational Technologies. Her PhD was on electronic assessment for which she developed and evaluated an online interactive tool to evaluate e-assessment systems, named e-SEAT.
Dr Anna Spenceley is a consultant focusing on sustainable tourism who has worked for over 20 years in developing countries on assignments promoting conservation and poverty reduction. Anna sits on the board of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), and on the GSTC’s Destination working group, and is a GSTC Trainer. Anna has a substantial publication record on sustainable tourism, including ‘The Responsible Tourism’ – an e-book which helps travellers find sustainable holidays.
Emeritus Professor Richard Butler
He is a past president of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism, and UNWTO Ulysses Laureate (2016), and has published over twenty books and a hundred articles on tourism, with a focus on tourism development, sustainability and islands. His main areas of research are tourism destination development, seasonality and the sustainability of tourism

Jean Louis Pismont is the Chief Operations Officer of Beachcomber, the leading hotel group in Mauritius and he is currently the President of AHRIM, the Association of Hoteliers and Restaurants in Mauritius. Educated at the Hotel School of Thonon Les Bains (France), Jean Louis Pismont has been part of the executive management at the ‘Forte Grand Abu Dhabi’ and ‘Le Royal Mansour’ of Casablanca, after spending significant time in the Ramada hotel chain mostly in the United Kingdom and Turkey. Jean Louis Pismont is known for his personal engagement and involvement in the deployment of Beachcomber’s CSR policy actions; he has successfully designed and implemented the Top 500 project, consisting of engaging patrons of the Beachcomber Paradis and Beachcomber Dinarobin hotels into both cash and in-kind contributions towards the Fondation Espoir Développement funding. Very much aware of the challenges of sustainable development and a firm believer in our common responsibility towards the future generations, Jean Louis Pismont is also deeply involved in the implementation process of ‘EarthCheck’ across the Beachcomber Group and its 8 properties on the island.

Mr M Y Foondun holds an MSc Chemical Engineer and has worked since 1988 in the Textiles Industry for Woven Fabric, Bleaching and Dyeing, prior of joining the MSB in the Quality Assurance Unit in 1995.
He is a Trainer for Quality Management System and for Sustainable Tourism registered with MQA. He has been involved with the accreditation of the Quality Management System Scheme with the Dutch Council for Accreditation (RvA) since 1996 and is a Lead Auditor for QMS since 1996 with the International Register for Certificated Auditors U.K (IRCA) and Auditor for other Management system such as Food Safety Management system (ISO 22 000 and HACCP) , Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Information Security Management System ( ISO /IEC 27001).

Ms Aworer is the Certification Manager and Senior Lead Auditor & Trainer at SGS Mauritius Ltd. She has 14 years’ work experience in the field of Hospitality, Quality, Food Safety, Agriculture, Agro Industry, Audits, Enforcement and Environment and conducted more than 425 Food Safety/Quality Management System Audits. She holds an MSc in Environmental Science with specialisation in Environmental Management from the University of Mauritius.

Dr Arjoon Suddhoo, FRAeS, is the Chairman of Air Mauritius Ltd and Executive Director of Mauritius Research Council. He was one of the laureates of the 1978 cohort. Dr Suddhoo is holder of a Bsc in Aeronautical Engineering with First Class Honours at the University of Manchester and a PhD in Aeronautics at the same University. He is also holder of an MBA with Distinction from the University of Liverpool.
